Overview

Location & Accommodation

This lovely cabin is located on a bungalow park in Noordwijk, pretty much right across from the beach. There is no facilities on the park itself, but the cabin had a spacious living space and a beautiful / large fenced in garden where the dogs could play. We were blessed with amazing weather during our stay and therefore spent lots of time outside, including eating breakfast and dinner at the outdoors dining table. There is a self check in at the cabin and we were welcomed with a lovely 'welcome Demi' sign at the front door. The cabin itself can't be reached by a car, the parking lot is about a two minute walk away from the cabin. When we left we spotted a cart on the park and used this to transfer all of our stuff.

Overall experience

We stayed at this cabin for a long weekend, arriving on Friday and leaving Monday morning in September. The outdoor space is really nice in the summer as there's plenty of room for the dogs to roam and play, as well as, for us to enjoy the sun. The cabin however gets really hot quite quickly if all windows / doors are closed during sunny days. We would come back from the beach and it would easily be 37 degrees celsius inside. There was no air conditioning or fans when we were staying there, but keeping the windows open for a while in the evening was good enough. The cabin is quite secluded on the park and the park itself is rather quiet, aside from some chatter or a dog barking sometimes we didn't hear much noise. Communication was great via email and we received a nice document with all the needed information. The cabin wasn't in top shape, slightly outdated and worn down (some parts of the floor weren't even for instance), but the furniture was comfortable / good and we had a lovely stay. The location is definitely what made this place great as it was very close to a dog friendly beach!

Accommodation details

Indoor space

The house has two bedrooms, one master bedroom and one smaller bedroom with bunk beds, a living space, a kitchen and a bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need, a large fridge and decent freezer and everything you need to cook meals. When we were staying there, the bathroom was rather outdated, the shower wasn't great, but it worked. As well as the flooring not being even in all places. The beds are good, not the most comfiest, but I slept more than fine. Due to the great weather we had, we only really used the indoor space to prepare food and to sleep. The beds were made and (dish) towels were provided. The Wifi was good and worked well for the duration of our stay. The space was clean enough for us, but don't expect a 100% highly clean place.

Outdoor space

We really enjoyed the outdoor space. It was well kept up and fenced in. Although, if your dog is a jumper / escape artist I would keep a very good eye on them as the gate leading to the house / garden is not very high at all. We spent most of our time at the cabin outside. There is a large table outside which was perfect for enjoying meals and hanging out in the evening. The dogs really loved roaming around in the garden and Dunya even played fetch for a while (which is huge for a husky like her). As for walking your dog, there's some patches of grass just outside of the bungalow park next to the road, where I would walk them to. But right across that same road is a path that leads through woods and dunes and eventually leads to a dog friendly beach. Which is also a beautiful place to walk your dog.

Dog friendly amenities

Facilities & area

The cabin is a great place for a getaway with your dog in The Netherlands. With a spacious garden and very close to a dog friendly beach, it's a great spot for a summer stay. Although I'm sure that in the other seasons it's a great spot as well due to the many hiking /biking paths. The bungalow is best reachable by car. The proximity to the dog friendly beach is what made this place perfect for our getaway. It is however a bit of a walk to get to the beach, but the path there is beautiful! You'll first walk through the woods which will lead you to the dunes with beautiful views. The last part is the heaviest, you'll have to walk up a rather steep dune to get to the beach on the other side. All very much worth it as at least in September the dogs were allowed on the beach off leash. Keep in mind, the nude beach is practically next to this beach. There are also no facilities at this part of the beach, we brought our own chairs and a parasol. â€‹

Pet policy

You're allowed to bring a max of two dogs during your stay at this cabin and we paid €7,50 per dog, per night extra for them. When we arrived they had left an adorable basket on the table with some snacks for us and some toys for the dogs. Dunya actually became obsessed with one of the toys which was in the basket. This was a very lovely detail!
